Writing an essay and hit a small block. "she rode horses"

I think it's "Ella montó caballos." Is this correct? Or would it be montaba?

Thank You!

Well, it depends on the context, but grammatically it should be "Ella montó a caballo." if she rode a horse yesterday... If you are talking about past habits etc. you should say "Ella montaba a caballo." But I'm not sure about caballo being caballo or caballos. It seems to me that there is no need for plural...

Yeah, my understanting, which might be wrong, is that 'montar a caballo' is the equivalent of 'to go horse riding', which you'd never pluralise to 'she used to go horses riding'... - afowen, Jan 19, 2011
