I just discovered Rata Blanca, a heavy metal group from Argentina; they're great! Do I say, "Me gusta la banda metal Rata Blanca?"

I would say rock pesado. I have heard this expression before.

This is what I have in my references. Heavy metal=metal pesado.
la banda, I think it would be la banda metal pesado. Or la banda de metal pesado. el grupo, el grupo metal pesado

What exactly do you mean by heavy metal? I always get metal, heavy metal, heavy leather, speed metal, death metal, black metal, operatic metal, symphonic metal, prog metal, and numetal confused.
