Someone I know went to the hospital in pain. Her sister, who is Spanish, said she is suffering from Sapositis, and then laughed.

Hola:

In Colombia to be a "sapo" can mean "to be a tattle-tale". "Sapositis" can mean that they suffer from tattling, or being a tattle...

In Argentina we say "come como un sapo", when somebody eats a lot, so it may be a funny way to say indigestion.

"Sapo" is toad in Spanish, and -itis is a suffix that means inflammation, both in Spanish and in English. Guess why they laughed.

Anyway, what is "sapositis" meant to be?
