"Estoy comiendo atún¨ Is all you need to say.

To say ¨estoy comiendo atún pescado´´ would be redundant.

It is quite common in english for a person to say ´´I like to eat tuna fish´´, but in spanish the the word ¨fish´´ does not have to be added, Its already there.

tuna ------> atún, both derived from Latin thunnus

In Spanish, tuna is a plant ---> paddle cactus

Hi mediterrunio: the "tuna" in this case is the fruit of the "nopal" cactus. - pacofinkler, Jan 17, 2011
here, both are called tuna, the fruit and the plant. - mediterrunio, Jan 17, 2011
