The hardest part about la lenqua puertorriqueña is the accent. I went to high school in PR, that's where I learned Spanish but to this day I find PR and Cuban Spanish the most difficult to understand. In general they speak very fast with a strong almost staccato beat. The drop their final s and and the final r is often changed to an l, but not always. As to the words, I think all Spanish regions have different words. Puerto Ricans definatly speak Spanish though, it is not a dialect.

she means the Puerto Rican dialect of Spanish. I tried to watch Viva Cuba and I could not understand a word as if I did not know any Spanish at all. - BellaMargarita, Jan 17, 2011
