it is used to speak about people of united states only
se usa para hablar solamente de la gente de los estados unidos
britain people we call "ingleses" canadian people "canadienses" usa people "americanos, gringos"
and to refer to usa we almost ever say "el otro lado"
i want to travel to the usa
1.- Quiero viajar a los estados unidos (formal)
2.- Quiero viajar al otro lado (friends, family)
did you see the news? what's happened? in the usa there is a new law.... viste las noticias? que pasó? en los estados unidos hay una nueva ley....formal viste las noticias? que pasó ? al otro lado hay una nueva ley....
