I agree w/ Miguel's answer. To add, I have also read & heard tener used in place of llevar in this sense, i.e. ¿Cuántos años tienes viviendo aquí?"

Any decent grammar or textbook for non-Spanish speakers usually dedicates a whole chapter just to time expressions, because some of them are probably unique to the Spanish language.

Check any resource on how to use "llevar" for time expressions.
