How dependable are the answers in this forum?

I've just started learning Spanish and I feel like there are a lot of things to go over. My question is about this forum. Are all answers dependable? (ironic that I'm asking it here smile ) Is it possible that someone can mislead me about a grammatical rule or something?

Most are dependable but don't always go by the first answer, watch your question and welcome to the forum. - Yeser007, Jan 15, 2011

Well I think they are pretty reliable or dependable as you said. Because loads of people seeing those answers and many of them native spanish speakers or really good at spanish so I guess if someone's answer is wrong, some other user can warn him/her or if the answer didn't satisfy you, some other user's answer would satisfy you.

Yes! Anyone can answer a question and they can be wrong about a grammatical error. Usually they will probably know what they are doing if they answer a question but other people can also see their answer and decide whether it is good or not and whether it is correct.

Based on the number of votes an answer or a question has is a good indication of how correct and accurate it is. Hope I helped. grin

Good answer Rana, welcome to the forum. - Yeser007, Jan 15, 2011
...they will probably know what they are doing....What cloud are you on? I'm guessing 98% of the time. I expect corrections so that I will learn something too. - 0074b507, Jan 15, 2011

Yes you can be mislead by inaccurate answers so don't be too quick to accept the first answer that you receive but experience will guide you as your learning progesses which answers sound best and also you will research the answers that you get for their soundness. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your studies.

Well, if you're asking about grammatical rules and the such, then at times they're often useless. I mean, my answers are always bound to be a load of diddle, whilst the wise words from Lazarus and co. are definitely the ones to 'depend' on. However, if you're asking a question about Spanish culture or questions in general (such as for what purpose do we exist or which hockey team do you support), I find that these answers can be quite 'dependable' as you have so eloquently put it, as people provide their opinions and as you know, the answers with these types of questions are all about the broad spectrum of opinion and do not pertain to any strict guide of factual answers.

Anyway...I know that you've had enough of me and my defeatist attitude, but that's all it is, and if you're still reading this answer with wide eyed interest, then I suggest you seek the wise, wispy folk who loiter around this website (I'm not mentioning any names, Heidi, Izanoni, Lorenzo and to top it all off...Lazarus wink ), with the simple yet noble purpose of enlightening us all with their very presence and learn their ways of wisdom...as I've slowly drifted into the dark realm of the Dunce Corner from which I soon hope to emerge.
