Dónde, Adónde, De dónde

Question

I pretty much have the hang of when to use 'de dónde', but I am having trouble differentiating between dónde and adónde. Is there a simple method that could help me differentiate between the two?

"Dónde" indicates both position and movement (=adónde)

"Adónde" indicates direction"

"De dónde" indicates origin ("de" = origin)

De done is from where.....for example.....where are you from Adonde is to where...for example....where are you going Donde is simply where....for example....where are you

Donde combines with the preposition a to form adonde when following a noun, pronoun or adverb expressing location (e.g. el sitio adonde vamos the place where we're going; es allí adonde iban that's where they were going).
