I like you.

Me gusta usted.

Me gustas tú.

You like me.

Te gusto [yo]. You is tú.

Le gusto [yo]. You is usted.

These are simpler for English speakers to figure out if you use the gustar="is pleasing to" analogy.

Muchas gracias. My teacher told me always gusta , never say gusto, but now I am sure she is wrong now. - zhmelissa, Jan 14, 2011
That is a common teaching concering objects (not people), but then the criteria is forgotten. Things are always 3rd person (it or they in English) - 0074b507, Jan 14, 2011
Subject do not like object in Spanish, objects please subjects. You do use gusto, when you say 'you like me' - I please you - te gusto, forget the 'to like' construction and think about 'to please'. - afowen, Jan 14, 2011
Feel free to pluralise where I failed to. - afowen, Jan 14, 2011

Your teacher is definitely wrong. I have said and heard "gusto" thousands of times in my life, and I can easily give you examples taken from famous writers. "Gustar" is used in all forms, and although statistically "gusta" is the most used one by far, it doesn't mean that the others cannot be used.
