"Escogí este asunto para mi investigación porque..."

"I chose this matter for my investigation because..."

The dictionary definition for "asunto" seems to fit the context just fine. So unless I'm missing something...

"Tema" might be a better word. "Tema" is used for the "topic" of a paper or conversation.

¿What is the context? Because "asunto" can mean many things.

No Kanani, you don't have the context we need. - Sabor, Jan 14, 2011
