To "strike gold" is to discover something or think of something that is very valuable. It is to find something that will bring a person from rags to richest almost instantly. How would you express this in Spanish?

For "to strike gold" in Peru you could say:

  1. pegarle al gordo (le pegó el gordo)
  2. sacarse la lotería (se sacó la lotería)

In Scotand you could say:

  • "You won a watch!"

wink

Hmmm, interesting, how about 'un golpe de suerte' or 'sacarse la lotería' - that would be instantaneous! cheese

I'm looking for something more along the lines of, you found something of great value, and if you work hard at it, you will be very successful.

Less 'get rich quick', more 'get rich quick if you work really hard at it'.
