Use of ya no & todavía?

Use of ya no & todavía?

Hi I have a few examples where I have used todavía & ya no and I would just like to know if I am using them correctly.

I am not sure if I am using them correctly or if I should just say in each of the second sentences: Ahora ya no and actualmente todavía.

* Antes viajar en avion era muy caro. En la actualidad ya no es más

barato.

The problem is that the construction of the sentences if faulty. There is some redundancy in there that needs to be eliminated:

Antes, viajar en avión era muy caro. Todavía lo es. (En lo actualidad lo sigue siendo. )

Alternatively: Hoy en día ya no lo es (works for all of them)

I think that Todavía is normally used in negative phrases

  • Todavía no lo he hecho - I still haven't done it

Whereas, Ya I use to say 'already'

  • Ya lo he hecho
  • Ya he comido
  • Vamos ya!

And for 'still' as in 'Now, football is STILL the most popular sport in Spain'

  • Aun va a venir? - Are you still coming?
