what is different between ensalada and ensaladilla?

Ensaladilla = ensalada rusa http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ensalada_rusa

In México,ensaladilla could be a small salad, but also can be used in a derrogatory way, ( this is the most common use) meaning that the salad in question is not very good, ordinary, wilted or not worth the price. So be careful in the use of this word.

¡ Esa ensaladilla no valió el precio!

¡No vayas a ese lugar,solo venden ensaladillas!

These examples are derrogatory.
