The room has (got) heating

The room has (got) a heating system

"Got" is optional in both sentences, and sounds a little redundant. I prefer the sentences without the "got."

The second one requires the "a" before "heating system" or it sounds bad (we would understand you, but you would definitely sound like a foreigner)

Jason's recommendation "the room has heat" is also good. - webdunce, Jan 12, 2011

I would go with "The house (apartment, condo, etc) has a heating system." and for the first one I would go with "The room has heat." I hope this helps. smile

You mean, one must say: the room has a heating system. But what about this: the room has heating?. Is it correct too?

- webdunce, Jan 12, 2011
Buen dicho webdunce. :) - Jason7R, Jan 12, 2011

I think "The room has a heating system" is more appropriate.
