minion

What is your context for minion?

min·ion (mnyn)

    1. An obsequious follower or dependent; a sycophant.
    1. A subordinate official, especially a servile one. (lacayo)
    1. One who is highly esteemed or favored; a darling.

I think minion normally carries a nuance that subordinate would not. (I doubt that minion was the best word in the English sentence...subordinates sounds better in either language).

I believe "lacayo" is the cloest. In the US, we call them "lackeys". - 0066c384, Jan 11, 2011
Thank you - I would not have thought the last definition above was an option. - ian-hill, Jan 11, 2011
