Al enamorarse

Would you say Al enamorarse at the start of a sentence to mean When they fell in love? If not, how would you start the sentence?

I mean in the context of this sentence: Al enamorarsedon Luis Alcázar fue al don Raimundo Pareja, el padre de la señorita Margarita Pareja, para pedir la mano de su hija en matrimonio.

This is for a summary on the story of La Camisa de Margarita escrito por Ricado Palma.

Al + infinitive is usually the equivalent upon + present participle in English.

Does that translate to the fact that grammatically the al enamorarse is correct? Thanks - CubaLibre68, Jan 8, 2011
