Drogado ..... drugged VS drugged out

Drogado ..... drugged VS drugged out

If I said "Parece que mi amigo estaba drogado antes" would that mean "was drugged" (which means that he had been drugged, this is the impression our dictionary gives) or "was drugged out" like "on drugs" or "in a drugged like state". Gracias.

Interesting question. I hear people here say things like "Anda drogado" or "está algo drogado" referring to people who have taken drugs.

If someone were the victim of being drugged [by someone else], you would have a form of "ser" - "fue drogada y violada" - she was drugged and raped.

We used to say fumado, but that was pretty specific, and obviously something you did to yourself. - KevinB, Jan 7, 2011

Gracias.
