Como se dice "to stay"

How do you say "to stay" in Spanish, as in to stay at a hotel during a vacation? I know that quedar means to stay inside, but I don't know if that's the verb I would use for a statement like "I want to stay at the Marriot Hotel." Please help! Thanks!

Would you use alojarse if you were staying at friend's house and not at a hotel and not quedarse? What if you starting living at your job because you became homeless and you found a spare set of keys and they didn't know? Still alojarse or is it quedarse there? Gracias.
