This sounds a lot like homework that is practicing commands.

There is a helpful video in the "Learning Spanish" section of this site that explains and gives examples or common household commands. I believe "set the table" is one of the examples. The video takes about 10 minutes to view. Here is the link.
Another video describes the verb conjugation and sentence structure for several other informal commands.
