The use of réquete
I've heard this used in Mexico every now and then meaning "very, very". Also I've think that I've heard it shortened to "re". Does anyone know if it's used in other Latin American countries? And has anyone heard the shortened form? When I use the word I get funny looks. Is it kind of a dorky word?
Examples:
¡Te vez réquete bonita hoy! ¡Te vez rebonita hoy!

I see it used all of the time in Junie B. Jones books written in Spanish. Therefore, I assumed that it was a child's term like her "bestest" friends.
