Phrasebook search is case-sensitive!
I just figured out that our Phrasebook uses a case-sensitive search.
I think this is a big deal:
1.Search for "Algo" and "algo" produces different results. Likewise for "Año" and "año".
2.Before suggesting a phrase, see if the phrase you want to add is already there -- almost impossible to be sure you're not duplicating one with a case-sensitive search.
3.Look for something in the Phrasebook and you must search using at least two typed formats before you might find it.
4.Send newbies to the Phrasebook, from the Answers forum, and the odds are good that they won't see what you saw.
Is there any chance that we can get this fixed so the searches are more useful, and we don't inadvertantly bloat the Phrasebook with duplicates?
On a related matter, the searches are strict regarding tildes (ñ is different from n), which sounds like a good feature if you're looking for "ano" vs "año", but not so useful considering good search engines match terms ignoring both case and diacritical mark differences.

That helps explain some of the confusion I have had Pesta.
Anyway, thanks Pesta, you deserve a vote.
YOu certainly do, I had no idea! ![]()
Ahhhh...is that why sometimes if a type in one thing I end up getting a result that is completely different to my search term? Anyway, thanks Pesta, you deserve a vote.
