Skype Game Chat: Friday Night, 23:30 Spain time, Everyone invited! (Closed)
Hi everyone!
Marianne and I are going to host a chat on Friday night at 17:30 Eastern Time. (22:30 British time, 23:30 Spain time)
We are going to play a game which hopefully will help everyone's vocab 
.
The object of this game is to describe words as quickly and as accurately as you can in Spanish.
There will be two teams and each person will take a turn describing, each player will be given the words by the captain of the opposite team.
Within a 2 minute time limit you have to describe as many words as possible and your team has to try to guess the words that you are describing.
For each word that is correctly guessed, your team will receive one point, at the end of the game, the team with the most points wins.
After the time limit is up for one round, the other team takes its turn describing words.
Each member of the team will get at least one turn describing.
Example:
Team A: The word is gato
Person Describing: es un animal, es una mascota, no le gustan los perros, tiene cuatro patas, dice "miau"...
When this is guessed correctly as a "gato", the speaker moves onto the next word. When the two minutes are up, Team B begins its play.
Just a thought:
My students hate this game, jeje, they never know what to sayThis time it is not a question of correctness, but to make your point, so no corrections will be made.
The "guessers" have to interrupt the speaker, as many times as they wish, so that the words are guessed as fast as possible.
No politeness here, ladies and gentlemen, just scream the word out as soon as you can think of one!
For example: Está en mi cara...I want to hear people scream, ojos, nariz, boca....!! Don't wait for the speaker to finish, just s h o u t !!

(Teams will be decided on Friday night before the chat so we can be sure that the game is as fair as possible and more advanced speakers are not all on one team .)

So, charades for voice only, sounds like fun! Heidita will have to cut short her usual visit to El Doble but what's 30 minutes among friends? I'd be happy to join.

So far the lineup looks fairly advanced but I wouldn't mind trying.
I would like to try this. It does sound hard. I hope I can do it.

This sounds like a hoot. Not sure I can be there by 17:30 local time. I will confirm Friday if I can make it. I just mostly wanted to say what a great idea it is (if a bit intimidating).
