Recommendation
Hi Folks...not sure if this is the forum to request this but I will wing out anyhow: I am prepared to tackle una novela en Espanol! And would love if someone could recommend some good literature...fiction or non-fiction would suffice and nothing too God smart when it comes to advanced Spanish...also if it could pertain to Mexico in anyway would be a huge plus....

I highly recommend the book Rosaura a las diez. It's used in many intermediate Spanish classes. I liked the book because it's a mystery-crime novel and I found myself piecing together the clues in Spanish. You can find abridged versions for sale online that come with vocabulary at the back of the book and footnotes for the words that are not so familiar. Unfortunately, the story takes place in Buenos Aires and not Mexico.
You also might want to try some short story collections. There's one called Al tanto: catorce cuentos contemporáneos and it contains various Spanish authors. The reading level is also intermediate.
I recommend to you this authors: - Julio Cortázar - Adolfo Bioy Casárez - Gabriel García Márquez - Jorge Luis Borges (but he´s a lot more complex to read)
There are at least 2 of us that are reading the Da Vinci Code in Spanish. It helps to read a story with which you are already familiar.
