Si construye una trampa para ratones mejor, el mundo se abrirá un camino hasta su puerta.

Si construye una ratonera peor, el ratón se comerá un camino a través de su puerta.

If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.
If you build an inferior mousetrap, the mouse will eat a path through your door.

Si construye una trampa para ratones mejor, el mundo se abrirá camino hasta tu puerta. Si construye una ratonera peor, el ratón se comerá un camino a través de ella. (We've lost the rhyme)... - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011
Side notes here: Why did you start the first part "si construir" and the second one "si usted construye" ? :) I've changed "inferior" because this can be tricky, it means "below, under" I think you meant "de calidad inferior", so "peor" would be a better - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011
choice. Finally, you did very well choosing the reflexive form for "se comerá", but you need future tense. Well done, Cathy! When do you go to Costa Rica, my friend? Are you going to be available from there? Hug! - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011
Sorry, Cathy, silly mistake: I should have written "hasta su puerta" - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011
Good one Cathy! The trouble is yourr mousetrap would make a lot of cats rendundant lol - FELIZ77, Jan 4, 2011

Very good, but the pun does not translate. 'Fuera' seems more appropiate than afuera. Well done, theresa! :) - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011

A veces hay que cortar algunas esquinas para conseguir lo que quieres.

Sometimes you have to cut a few corners to get what you want.

His "wisdom" teeth. - 0074b507, Jan 4, 2011
There are several options here: Un ratón "de" dientes afilados, e inteligentes - the most common- Un ratón con los dientes afilados, dientes inteligentes- rhetóric sound- , Un ratón de afilados e inteligentes dientes - almost poetic-Good, Ray! - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011
Thank you cog, that is what I was looking for. - ray76, Jan 4, 2011
Thank you Q, but I avoided the "Wisdom teeth " fearing it would be misunderstood. - ray76, Jan 4, 2011
"y inteligentes" is not correct, before words beginning with "i" like "inteligente", we say "e inteligente" - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011

I don't understand why they spent so much money building this silly maze, when they could buy me better cheese!

¡No entiendo por qué gastaron tanto dinero construyendo este estúpido laberinto, cuando podían haberme comprando un queso mejor

Hubiera sido más rápido de ir a través del laberinto.

It would have been faster to go through the maze.

Hope you don't mind, I edited your English error, it's a very common mistake. :) - galsally, Jan 4, 2011
Hmm.. I don't understand the sentence, unless you meant through instead of though. In this case " Hubiera sido más rápido ir a través del laberinto". Subjunctive very well used, simpe! :) - cogumela, Jan 4, 2011
Thanks, I did misspelled through. - simpevets, Jan 4, 2011

After tasting this cheese, I prefer the maze.
