I was wondering how you say "Be patient" in Spanish in the form of a polite command like to a child.

Gracias!

Estoy de acuerdo, pero "paciencia" no lleva tilde :) - AntMexico, Jan 3, 2011

No, "tenga paciente" is wrong. You can say "Sé paciente" or "tené paciencia" and add "por favor" to sound more polite.

Welcome to the forum, :) please note that this is the Argentinian accent, tené paciencia is not used elsewhere - 00494d19, Jan 3, 2011

good sir,

"ten paciente" is for a child. If I were talking to my g-pa, I would probably say "Sea paciente" because he is much older than me, and deserves some respect.

Welcome to the forum, :) ten paciente is not correct though, it would be ten paciencia - 00494d19, Jan 3, 2011

I think that it is 'Tenga paciente, por favor' as a polite imperative, but would you only say that to older people....I'm not sure.

it depends where you live, in Spain this would sound odd - 00494d19, Jan 3, 2011
