how do you say we went skiing

i know 'esqui' is 'i skied' but i need to know how to say 'we skied' (past tense) and google translate doesnt make it make sense thanks x

If you want to say "we skied", the word is "esquiamos". It is the first person plural preterite tense of the verb "esquiar". Unfortunately, it is also the first person plural present tense of the verb. "Esquiamos" is the translation result from one translation engine.

If you want to say "we went skiing", you introduce the verb "ir" (to go) into the sentence. The first person plural preterite for "ir" is "fuimos", or "we went". The Google translator picks the wrong person for the verb "ir" in that sentence.

I'm a beginner, but here is my suggestion:

"Fuimos a esquiar". It is returned by the Babel translator.
