When is it correct to use "Tu" or "Su"

Since both words"Tu"and "Su" means "You", at what stage do I use either? I am somewhat confuse.

Tu/ Su mean your. Tu is informal, Su you would use in a formal way, if you don't know the person you're are speaking to (usted), for example, to a member of family, you could say "dónde esta tu bolsa? , but you would use "su" for someone you dont know. Like ¿cómo está? / ¿cómo estás?
