The assignment was to write a letter to the teacher who you asked for a college recommendation. You must include in your letter: a thank you, information on the acceptance into the college of your choice, your plans in the immeadiate time and future (two-three sentences is fine), your favorite memories from that teachers class, and a proper opening and signature for a letter.

If you could please proofread what I have written, especially correcting verb tenses, it would be greatly appreciated and I will vote up all your answers for helping. THANKS y gracias por todo

Querida Sra. Barrios,

State College and Medical School Seven Year Accelerated Program.

Is "Querida" an appropriate opening? Would "estimada" sound better? Get rid of all those "se's" and put in "le's" You want the indirect object pronown and not the reflexive. You "asistir a" not "atender" something. Atender means to assist professionaly and atender means to attend (false cognant). Is "fuerte abrazo" appropriate? How about "atentamente" which is the equivalent of "sincerely". Good luck in med school.

Thanks so much for your corrections! They are greatly appreciated. And thank you so much for wishing me good luck, I expect the next 7 years of my life will be filled with school work and fun! I am going to get my minor in Spanish. - CubaLibre68, Dec 31, 2010
Thank you also for the suggestions in the opening and closing! The ones that I used were better for family and friends, right? - CubaLibre68, Dec 31, 2010

I understand why you used es to match lo que in number, but should it have not been Las que and son to match las actividades in number/gender? Can the activities be the thing or must it be the things?

We've hashed this out in a previous thread, but I can't recall the outcome. I do recall that Spanish and English may differ on how this is handled.

Why did you re-post this? - 0074b507, Dec 31, 2010
I re-posted it because I realized I placed it under the wrong category. This should be under proof reading so I changed its location. - CubaLibre68, Dec 31, 2010
- CubaLibre68, Dec 31, 2010

Thank you! What I wrote is 100% true but it is also an assignment. I am super excited to have been accepted into the school of my dreams! - CubaLibre68, Dec 31, 2010
Penn State has campuses all over Pa. Will you be going to the University Park campus before going to the Medical College? - 0074b507, Dec 31, 2010
Yep, University Park for the first three years and the Medical College for the last four. - CubaLibre68, Dec 31, 2010

It is awesome though, where did you learn your spanish? I am impressed. I am from Spain and I got into Penn State University Park too, I finished high school in Spain, so this 2011 fall I will be starting at Penn State, I can't wait!!

This is my email if you want to practice your spanish! I guess I'll practice my english toogrin raquel_af_92@hotmail.com

¡Muchas felicitaciones! He notado esta pequeño error.

- CubaLibre68, Jan 1, 2011
