I think the phrase is badly written. first thing you should know is that in Spanish all the accents are very important. for example: "mas" without the accent means "but" and "más" with the accent means "more".

so, I think despite of the bad writing.... the translation would be:

"love can commiserate, and it commiserates more when there's more love"
