'para ganar dinero' is ok, although normally you'd say things like 'para ganarse la vida'. In this context ('to make ends meet'), I'd translate this as 'para llegar a fin de mes el resto del año' - bill1111, Dec 30, 2010

Not quite. 'Rayas' or 'rayones' means scratches, not streaks. To translate 'streaks' you need a different word, for example 'rastros'. Also, in this case it's better to use future tense than 'ir a': 'Ahora culparán al perro por los rastros de la ventana' - bill1111, Dec 30, 2010

The thing with using either 'mascota' or 'animal de compañía', is that both are nouns, not adjectives (well, the second is a noun phrase). 'Conejo-mascota' already sounds a little meh, but 'conejo el animal..' is plain wrong. - bill1111, Dec 30, 2010
