question What does "shabby chic" mean in spanish? I know it´s a style but what is its translation? I found "shabby" as ragged here but "shabby chic" is not ragged. Thanks! Marissa smile

Chic ajado, although shabby translates closer to deshilachado or desaliñado in other contexts.

It is a look in home decorating that is fashionable in the U.S. and England, but not at all in Madrid, Spain.

It is a clothing style that is fashionable, but the clothes are purposely old, worn out, or out of style. Torn blue jeans worn with a sport coat would be one example, maybe with very expensive shoes worn with no socks. I don't know if it translates into Spanish.

Edit: I've always thought of it in terms of clothing, but it can apply to furniture, too.
