I think learning is fun, in general, and Spanish is fun, in particular. Like anything worth learning, juggling, playing guitar, riding a bicycle, it takes work and practice.

Yes!! It is fun. You just have to adopt the attitude that you will make it fun. If you decide that it's a pain, that's exactly what it will be. If you adopt the attitude that it's an adventure, you'll have fun. If you enjoy seeing how another system works, you'll like it. If you like having to look at words and ideas in new ways, you'll like it. If you like the thought that the door to speaking to hundreds of millions of Spanish speakers could lead you to make great friends and learn exciting things, then it will be fun. If you take it as a journey and not a destination, it will be fun. If you hang around here and take the lessons and do the flashcards and make up your own flashcard sets for things you're having trouble with and take part in the games on the forum and get to know some folks on the forum who you can go to for advice, it will be fun. If you take the attitude that there will be challanges along the way but that you will find the tenacity to overcome them, it will be fun.

In short, whether or not it's fun is totally up to you!!

I love it! I started learning as a hobby and now I'm going back to college to get my degree. Not only is it a great way to keep your mind strong, but it opens up a lot of doors as well. It's a great feeling to be able to communicate with other people and learn about their culture as well. I think it's almost impossible to really learn Spanish, or any other language for that matter, unless you truly love it.
