When I studied Latin, the "let's ..." construction was referred to as the "hortatory subjunctive" ("command" always applied to 2nd person sing/plu address) and I have also heard that term applied to English grammar. However, some people find "hortatory subjunctive" a bit of a mouthful and prefer the simpler term "command".

People find "exhortativo" a bit too much in Spanish, but maybe less than in English. - lazarus1907, Dec 29, 2010
Thank you so much for your explanation. - Goyo, Dec 29, 2010

{self edited a bunch of stuff}

I'm very sorry, spanishlearn, for my initial remarks. I had never heard of "nosotros commands" the very notion sounded silly to me.

Apparently, the "suggestion" that we make, "Lets do so and so" are referred to as "nosotros commands."

You can learn about that here in our Reference Section.

And again, I apologize.

Buena suerte.

Yeah there are, like the English "let's..." - TheSilentHero, Dec 28, 2010
Thank you. I'm stunned. To me, that isn't a command. It's not an imperative. It's a suggestion. But you are right. - Goyo, Dec 28, 2010
