Here is what I think.

My dictionaries suggest that 'anivelar' = 'nivelar'

Nivelar = to level, even out, balance.

I suspect there is a spelling mistake in the question and it should be; "Yo siempre estuve anivelado con él."

Translated/Interpreted it would mean:

"I was always 'on the level' with him".

Well, that is one interpretation. What do others think?

Yes, I'll bet you got it but you know it 'should' mean something like 'I was always on the same level as...' (maybe socially or at work?) - margaretbl, Dec 28, 2010

This may help, from the RAE:

anivelar.

1.tr. desus. nivelar (? poner a igual altura dos cosas).

2.tr. desus. nivelar (? igualar algo con otra cosa).

So maybe it means, "I always was leveled with you"

Hmm, very interesting lala. Nivelar = balance but this must be slang of some sort. Maybe someone else can add to this.... raspberry
