Meaning of "abrirse de capa con"?

Era la primera vezque Rosaura se abria de capa con Titay trataba estas temas con ella". I can guess the meaning but i want to be sure.

"Abrirse de capa" es an idiomatic expression, you might never find it in a dictionary. I think it is mainly used on the North side of Mexico. "Abrirse de capa" means to reveal, to confess, to open up, to become clean, to finally declare on something you were hidding. i.e "Una vez que hablamos, ella se abrio de capa conmigo".. Once we talk, she opened up, she confess.

Hola Rachel, where is your quote from? It sounds like an expression from the bull-fighting world and I am intrigued. Yes - it must just be 'open up' or something like that.

Hi rachel, the expression "abrrse de cpa" has nothing to do with the bullfighting, it is only an expression to enounce confession or revelation. - neobarba, Dec 28, 2010
