There are lots of questions in this forum pertaining the use of por and para. All you need to do, my Spanish learning friend is search for them using the search mechanism, or go onto the reference section under the 'more' link on the menu, and search for it there!!

Good luck. wink

Apart from por and para, the most common prepositions in Spanish are:

1) a
2) de
3) con
4) en
5) sin
6) según
7) bajo

The 7 principles are to use por or para when these 7 other prepositions don't sound right. Notice that words like bajo have meanings other than as a preposition.
