El Sondeo = survey, sounding, poll. The survey is used to know the opinions of people about any topic of interest. "Survey" in Spanish language is better known like "Encuesta". El sondeo se utiliza para conocer la opinión de la gente sobre cualquier tema de interés. "Sondeo" En el Idioma español es mejor conocido como "Encuesta"

It's correct, but ambiguous. Rather than '(In this case.. an opinion poll is not necessary)', this reads like 'Opinion polls are unnecessary (about anything)'. The way this would be expressed in Spanish is: 'No hace falta hacer un sondeo de opinión' - bill1111, Dec 27, 2010

You could also say 'Un sondeo de opinión es innecesario *en este caso*', or 'No es necesario *hacer* un sondeo de opinión', as all these would clarify that you are referring to this particular case, and are not just blanket statements. - bill1111, Dec 27, 2010
