As this is a learning site, proper spelling and punctuation is obligatory. What is your question here? - Gocika, Dec 26, 2010

Hello, Xentuk.

I will try to answer your question about the headline.

A "major" is a military rank. It is a very high rank, but below a general.

"Major accused" means that the military person is believed to have done something wrong.

"peace process stalls" means that talks or discussions to try to work out a peace agreement have stopped making progress, or have come to a stop.

Without the context it is impossible to be more specific than these generalities.

thank you!!! can it mean " the major is accused beacuse the peace process has stalled?' - xentuk, Dec 26, 2010
It is highly unlikely that the accusation against the maor will be on the grounds that the peace talks have stopped since such talks are normally conducted by Diplomats and or politicians rather than military personnel - FELIZ77, Dec 26, 2010
It would have to be connected with some serious area of misconduct within the army or perhaps leaking significant security information to the press like an American General did and was sacked by Obama - FELIZ77, Dec 26, 2010

Major is a surname, as well as a military rank e.g. John Major, ex British Prime Minister.

Could be that someone of surname Major has been accused...

You need to read some of the story, or already know some of the background, before you can understand this headline.

yes sure, but there is no story. I am to translate the hadlines given - xentuk, Dec 26, 2010
Then your teacher apparently expects you to have some knowledge of world affairs in the mid 90's. All newspaper headlines assume some prior information about the content, which is why they don't print the entire story in giant boldface capitals. - lorenzo9, Dec 26, 2010
