Does "dormirse" exist?

Voy a dormirme = I am going to fall asleep./I am going to put myself to sleep.
Voy a dormir = I am going to sleep./I am going to bed.

dormir = to sleep
dormirse = to fall asleep/to put to sleep

And for the sake of completeness:

Lo voy a dormir. = I am going to put you/him/it to sleep. (as in tranquilize a person/animal, or put down an animal)

Which verb is correct? Depends on what you what to say!

First you need to understand that these phrases originate from different verbs:

1 'Me voy' comes from the verb irse which is reflexive and means I am leaving

Voy a dormirme I am going to go off to sleep/ to fall sleep

Other example/s:You can say: Me voy ahora para llevar mis niños de escuela = I am leaving now to pick-up (collect) the children from school.

2 'Voy a' means: I go to, or I am going to and comes from the verb ir which means to go

Other example/s: Voy a dormir = I am going to sleep

You can say Voy a ir al cine mañana = I am going to go the cinema tomorrow
