What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

¿Cuál es su favorito tradición de Navidad?

Para mi, los villancicos son el mejor.

For me, the Christmas carols are the best. alt text

I don't have any tradition. But I like to sing 'Jingle bell song'. And I like to decorate my Christmas tree. This time I don't have one. :( And from my college days, I have this habit of shouting 'Merry Christmas' from my balcony

I like the tree-lighting ceremony that town's have when everyone comes together to see the tree lit.

( It became a tradition to wake up this morning from the Christmas carols my two daughters sing to us since they learned to talk...
you can only imagine the first time..)

Nos encanta ir a la misa de gallo en la noche buena. No soy un hombre muy religioso, confieso, pero la misa es muy bonita en nuestra iglesia.

For Orthodox Christmas (6th of Jan) we have a tradition of making a special bread with a lucky coin inside. On the dinner table besides the bread, we usually have fried fish, beans salad, fruits and dry fruits and mandatory - red wine, but nothing of animal origin. The family gathers around the table and the lady of the house breaks the bread into pieces – one for everybody. Before starting to eat, everyone tries to find the lucky coin in his/her piece of bread. The one who finds it, is believed to be lucky during the following year (also gets money from the eldest member of the family)smile

This dinner, modest as it is, always tastes very special...the same menu would never work on a different occasion...

Oh wait... wait I've a very important tradition before Christmas we all plant little plants in small dishes & we watch them grow up everyday & every time they grew up a little bit we know that Christmas is coming soon smile I really enjoy planting those little seeds, even thought only little kids do this for fun red face.

I like getting out the Christmas decorations that have been tucked away for a year and decorating the house. I try to do something different every year.

All the lights were working beautifully until last night. Now the bottom two strings of lights on the Christmas tree will not light up! I don't like the idea of removing all the decorations and putting more lights on.

I don't know what the problem is. I am blaming it on the cat!

I always try to catch "A Christmas Story" and "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" on T.V. When I see those it feels like Christmas. But I always stop and think about the true meaning.
