I was taught that spoiled child means chiflado, and that nino consemtido means favorite child was I taught wrong?

I thought that un niño chiflado is a nutty child and un niño mimado is a spoiled child.

The word is consentido, which means favored that you dote over, for example, mi mujer consentida is my wiife. - Bob-Dressler2, Dec 23, 2010

Un niño mimado or un niño consentido means spoiled child. You could also use, 'Gachón' which would mean spoiled child as well. Gachón, I think is used in Andalucía mostly and it applies to both male and female.
