I am not sure if I must say:

I was waiting for my turn in the queue

I was waiting my turn in the queue

I'd say the second one is better, but both are correct. You usually say "I was waiting for my turn (to do something)" or "I was waiting for (something)". The most common thing to say in this situation would be "I was waiting in line." (American English)

Both are commonly used but to be gramatically correct when using "Wait", if "For" is not used, then "Await(ing)" must be used. I was awaiting my turn...

You are only in a queue if you are waiting for something, so you can just say I was in the queue. or I was queueing. or I was waiting to be served / for my turn at the x
