Could be 2 things, depending on what "la gorda" is 1.- I refer as "la gorda" when I talk about my baby girl, or a fatty lady that I dislike (usually) 2.- "tuvimos que dormir" (to a pet, usually to kill) to a son to make him/her to go to bed

So either they killed a fatty lady that they dislike (LOL). or they made their son/daughter go to bed. U pick. jejejejeje

baby girl is the best answer - mediterrunio, Dec 22, 2010
Thank you for the answer. Yes, without any more context it is difficult to understand, but she didn't gave more, just sounded upset and all others seamed to understand what is the problem. - evelina2, Dec 22, 2010
Well, so I think that maybe they killed that poor fat lady as they do not have any kids. LOL - evelina2, Dec 22, 2010

Hard to tell without any context. Translating this literally yields:

  • Tuvimos que => We had to ...
  • dormir a alguien => put someone to sleep
  • la gorda => the fat one (female)

Caelus has already suggested a literal and a figurative interpretation of this sentence. Without some more detail it's impossible to tell what is really meant.
