¿No sabes el significado de la expresión "el quinto pino"?
Cuando decimos que algo está "en el quinto pino" queremos decir que está muy lejos.

Obviamente el quinto pino es una expresion exclusiva a España. la usé con un peruano, no sabía de que hablaba.
I have heard it used in México too, or at least by Mexican-Americans, to refer to "the middle of nowhere" ~ "out in the boondocks" ~ the more vulgar "B.F.E" (for those in the know) ~ but I would like to add a similar Spanish expression I have heard/used in my area:
el quinto infierno
which makes reference to Dante's fifth circle of his Inferno (there are 9 total, so #5 would be over halfway to the center of Hell). This would also work well with "el quinto pino" as being some far-flung place that is, if you'll pardon the misnomer, nowhere! There is also the more vulgar "el quinto cono" (omitted the tilde on the 'n' on purpose) but that one I have only read about...not a word I necessarily recommend anyone using! So, basically, some place "far from everywhere" which really is a matter of the speaker's or user's geography....
