I'm wondering why you don't get rep for being voted up on Flashcards. My questions don't usually get very popular, but my flashcards have tons of faves. One set has 58, and my next most popular set has 32. I'm way off from 10k, so I can use the points plus it's fun to get points smile

I like the idea too....I think it would hold one accountable for the validity of their flashcards also....ie. including the definite article etc., and therefore preclude the most famous question of them all here, "Gee, how do I know if a word is masculine or feminine?" You memorize it with the word....ya think?

As a disclaimer, my flashcards are not popular and I doubt if I would 'get' anything off of them.

Sihara, I voted for your question because you probably have a good recommendation. But your questions have been popular and useful to other SD members, and you have acquired a significant reputation score already. You are obviously a valued member of the SD group.

Changes like you are requesting would probably require a lot of review by administrative people, then programming changes by technical staff. Anyway, if I can advise anything, try not to get "hung up" on reputation. I have seen great questions and answers submitted by members with low reputation scores. If I have any concern about reputation, it is that some new member may see my question or response on the forum and be misled by my reputation to believe that I actually know something about Spanish.

If I can advise, keep focused on learning and helping others learn Spanish. That is the reason we are interacting on the site. The numbers will follow.

I am not sure selecting flashcards is done for the reason of voting for their correctness. If I am able to do a flashcard set now to my satisfaction, I do not add it to my faves, no matter what the quality of the set is. If I cannot do it right now for some reason, but I want to do so at some time - I add to my faves for later consideration so I don't lose it. If it is something I want to do again sometime, I might also add it even if I have already done it once.

I think if voting for correct flashcards were instituted in an attempt to increase the quality, it should be separate from bookmarking them- as these functions have different purposes.
