It can be amigo and amiga. Amigo means friend who is boy and amiga means friend who is girl. But this is different of boyfriend and girlfriend, because there are another way to say boyfriend and girlfriend.(Novio and novia). And remember! if there are friends whose are only boy or boy and girl, you have to use amigos and if there are friends whose are only girl, you have to use amigas.

So there are two diffrence way to say friends, amigo and amiga! wink

Using "who are male" and "who are female" would have avoided needing to mention the special meanings of boyfriend/girlfriend. - samdie, Dec 20, 2010

Do you mean friend's or friends (plural) as you've said in the title? Both have different meanings.
