If you mean the dictionary on this website, then it is accurate and the advantage of it is that it provides examples of when to use the given word as well.
If you are actually referring to the spanishdict translation tool, then the translations that you will get tend to be off track, although the translation will be accurate for smaller less complex sentences.
And finally if you mean, how can this website be of help to you in providing you a good Spanish learning resource, then I'd say that you are definitely in the right place. This website is extremely useful to me and it has been for the past few years now; whenever I have a query on Spanish tradition, or particular phrases or sentences, I know that I can rely on my good friends: lorenzo, and the other Spanishdict honchos who do an extremely good job in providing me with the help that I need. By the way though, this website is not here simply to do your work for you, but once you have tried and still cannot find a good answer to your problem, then be sure to come to the forum, and ask for help. We'll be here.

It's really about knowing how to use it. I do quite a lot of translation, Spanish to English.
It would be ridiculous to expect an electronic translation tool to give you a correct translation. Once you keep that in mind it becomes a wonderful aid.
You read a paragraph, mutter to yourself, arrive at a 1st version, cut and paste into the translator and get somewhat coherent gobbledygook. That, contrasted with the interpretation you have made is inspiring and time-saving.
Sometimes it's rubbish but at the very least you become more certain of what it isn't. It's something to react against as well as relying upon.
I hope this makes sense to you. I find it an invaluable aid to translation, it's stimulating, time-saving and almost always gets the gist if you're half awake and prepared to interpret and rephrase, which after all, is what translation is all about.
So yeah, it's a wonderful aid.
As for "accuracy" there really is no such thing, there are so many ways to "correctly" translate something - that's where the fun is 
For this particular class, I need to check blackboard regularly, complete quia assignments in a timely manner and practice speaking in Spanish when the opportunity permits. To make a good grade in this class, I also need to study at least an hour per day if not more. ( I need to have this translated into Spanish)
