Acento = emphasis?

Acento = emphasis?

I've just started a new book called "Angelina" by Rafael Delgado (discarded the H.P. poorly translated one) and came across this: En sus armoniosas páginas reconocemos un acento nuestro

In these harmonious pages we recognize a our accent, I'm thinking acento means more like emphasis here since there is no "accent" since it's a book. Seem right to you?

acento nuestro , not ´new´. I think it´s related to local color, in these harmonious pages we recognize our touch, our taste, our identity.

Something like that.

Wow. Our touch, taste, idientity. How could I ever learn to take that sort of meaning from a word naturally? That's.... so different than what I expected. - jeezzle, Dec 19, 2010
