Please help me a bit with my grade reports

Hi guys, I have to write short comments for each of my English students, aged 6 to 14, and I just want to make sure my comments make sense. Please proofread my translations. (I used a translator and then tried to clean up things that I knew were incorrect.) Thanks!

Fran's participation has improved throughout the semester. (La participación de Fran ha mejorado durante el semestre.)

Ale does well in class when she listens, but she often talks to her classmates and need prompts to listen to instructions. (Ale hace bien con las tareas en clase cuando le escucha al profesor, pero frequentemente habla con sus compañeros y necesita avisos para escuchar instrucciones.)

Jose's participation has greatly improved since the beginning of the semester. (La participación de Jose ha mejorado mucho desde el principio del semestre.)

the teacher here is a direct object (no le)

You don't need the ella in the last sentence, and it should be una, since she is feminine. Also, that sentence isn't in the English note.

Juan is a very bright student and he understands directions in English very well. He is a great student! (Juan es un estudiante muy listo y entiende muy bien las instrucciones en Inglés. Él es un gran alumno!)

Again, the él in the last sentence is redundant.
